The Foundation provides scholarships to local graduating high school students who exemplify the Rotary ideal of “Service Above Self”. These scholarships are presented to two groups of students. One scholarship for individuals that independently chose their area of community service and undertook the commitment throughout their high school time. The other group is for those students that provided volunteer community service in association with Rotary’s Interact Clubs in the local high schools.

A third scholarship to graduating seniors that plan on seeking job skills for post high school work. These scholarships are not awarded to students for their community service or to students that plan to seek professional positions through a four year college or university.

Three different committees that include Lacey Rotarians and others select the scholarship recipients from student application received by the Lacey Rotary Foundation Board of Directors.

Annually the three scholarship categories award around $100,000 in scholarships. These range from one year, two year to four year funding to the school or training venue of the students choice.
